No form of racism is funny because whoever is the butt of the joke feel out of place

So, whats people's stand point on asylum seekers then? Do you like them living off our taxes? I saw the new's last night and an Iraqi refugee seemed to think the being in this country was an honour to us so he didn't have to get a job. His words where "I do not need a job, I am rich in my country, people will pay for me in the UK. I refuse to get a job." This is the kind of thing that make people want to hate them, the root of racism or at least one of the causes of it.
I myself am not racist, infact some of my family are black/mixed, but I have a sense of humor. What a shame a lot of Anti - racist, homophibia, xenophobia etc etc supporters don't. If you can't laugh at your self with others then life becomes a chore. Things do go too far sometimes, which is when it crosses a line, but general banter and jokes made in passing shouldn't be outlawed...

Asylum seekers just want a better life though..if I we was in their postion we'd do the same...it's our governments fault if they abuse the system.
I recently heard on the news something about not letting asylum seekers/refugees in unless they get a job..makes you wonder why they didnt do this in the first place instead of giving them tax payers money to live on...
i accept that the uk mprobably lets too many asylum seeker in. This is reflected through rising taxes. It is important to remember that it is VERY hard to get into countries such as Australia or America, they have very strict laws on who can enter and these countries are not viewed as evil (well ignoring bush.).
The reason why this is such a multi cultural country is something to do with politicians in the 70's, Can't remember what they said but something to do with showing people how unbias we was or something... since then I think a lot of people have taken the piss. Personally I think that the government should make the people who live legitimately (i.e born here live, here etc etc British citizens basically)in this country it's first priority, in other words take care of our own needs before handing help out to others, therefore making the country struggle and have to pay for our own tax as well as refugees/asylum seekers. Then we can help them with out having to fuck the country up... if you get my point.
we just landed ourselves with 1200 more iraq'i kurds this morning with the closure of the Songat refugee camp in Calais this morning. The French get 1000. Hmmm the math makes sense.
